Sunol

Sunol is unincorporated and small, folded into the hills between Pleasanton, Fremont, and Livermore. The Water Temple and a short main street are the landmarks.

This is a place people drive to for a picnic or a photograph and a few people actually live in. Trains, cattle, and oak hills are closer than a supermarket variety pack. Niles Canyon connects it, beautifully, toward Fremont.

Living in Sunol means accepting a rural errand map. Visiting is easy and worth it.

Getting around

Car. Pleasanton and Fremont are the practical cities. The canyon road is the scenic one and not the fast one.
