Port Costa

Port Costa is one of the smallest communities in the East Bay, a former wheat port on the Carquinez Strait. You come for the Warehouse Cafe, the buildings, and the feeling that the road might end.

This is not a full-service town. Groceries, schools, and ordinary errands happen elsewhere. What it has is atmosphere: nineteenth-century buildings, a cliff of a shoreline, and a reputation out of proportion to its size.

Living here is a deliberate choice. Visiting on a weekend afternoon is the easier version.

Getting around

Drive. Crockett is the neighbor. There is no transit story that makes this an easy San Francisco commute.
